Unit 3: Crime Scene Responsibilities – Learn how to secure a crime scene, avoid mishandling evidence, and handle media interview requests appropriately.

Unit 4: Safety and Awareness – Master the differences between cover and concealment, situational awareness, and identifying hazardous conditions in assigned areas.

Unit 1: Laws
This unit covers the authority to arrest, breaches of peace under Section 42.01 of the Texas Penal Code, and responsibilities in preventing theft under Article 18.16 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Students will also learn about common law violations encountered in security work and the differences between Private Security requirements and a License to Carry.

Unit 2: Field Notes
This unit focuses on developing strong note-taking skills to prepare accurate and effective reports. Students will learn the essential elements of a report and explore the two types of reports commonly used in the private security industry.

Unit 3: Crime Scene
This unit teaches students their duties at a crime scene, including securing access and understanding the consequences of mishandling evidence. Students will also learn how to handle media interview requests professionally and appropriately.

Unit 4: Patrol Services
This unit covers the differences between cover and concealment, emphasizes the importance of situational awareness, and highlights the need to identify hazardous conditions within assigned areas.
